Nach Murray et al (2013) treten in Gara es Sbâa zwei verschiedene Amioidea auf. Dieser Typ hier (Typ A) besitzt eine lange, duchgehende Rückenflosse, die deutlich vor der Körpermitte beginnt; bei Typ B (Link Galeriebild) beginnt die Rückenflosse dagegen etwa in Körpermitte. Eine vorläufige Beschreibung ist in "Mesozoic Fishes 5" erschienen; die endgültige Beschreibung soll in "Mesozoic Fishes 6" veröffentlicht werden.
